Hey all,It has been a long couple of months without much activity happening, but I am happy and excited to say that the wheels are finally turning again! We have approval to paint the ramps which you can see in an attachment. This will bring a new face to the park and lots of positive attention....Donna, has the Mayor seen the image for the color scheme, Bill said that may speed up the process if he has not seen it.The park will also be re-paved which is very exciting for those who use the park on a daily basis! We have the go ahead to paint a couple of 4x8ft plywood pannels. One will be a mural for Ian of course the rest will have to be decided upon....if anyone has artists in mind for this project please don't hesitate. They will be fixed to some of the ramps and features and possibly the fence surrounding the park as well!If anyone has ideas for temp. structures to provide shade I'd love to hear it....I know fixing canvas to the fence was mentioned, but we are considering re-moving the fence if at all possible.I would love if NY Heartwoods could use some of the beat up skateboards that were donated and we could make a bench out of it...other people with wood working experience are of course welcome to help! And I would love for the Garden club, sustainable Warwick, and Innis to make up a plan for the permaculture garden. We have approval we just need plans.I feel we could get a lot accomplished this summer!I was also asked to come up with a 4 year plan of short and long term goals for the skate park and surrounding area. Annual events like a chalk festival, games day, or farm stands would be awesome. I will send another email of my ideas for the park and some events. Any Ideas are welcome!I think that about wraps it up for now! Thanks to those who have been with us and supported us along the way! Special thanks to the Board of Trusetees and the Local Lions Club!

Hello there,
ReplyDeleteYes, the colors were approved and there was approval for us to get creative with how we want the trash bins to look - this took place at the board meeting on 6/3 and was confirmed on 6/17.
PK wants to thank George McManus (representing the Lion's Club) who has offered to pay for the paint and provide the insurance rider for the ramp painting project. Thanks to the Mayor and the Village Board for their support and willingness to help see the park we have gets a 'face lift' which will bring attention to what our PK Skate Team has accomplished - we certainly appreciate it. These changes will lead in to our new park!
Movement!! Yay!
