Hey there,
It's sunny, hot and some time spent at the Warwick skate park this evening yields some facts:
1. the park desperately needs something to create shade.
2. the tar used to fill in the cracks is soft from the heat - clearly tar was not the best choice.
3. one garbage can does not equal a clean skate park...and what about recycling?
4. the dynamic has changed without the pyramid - something fun needs to replace it.
5. the park is drab, looks old and worn... it really needs something!
PK proposes this -
How about we paint the exposed/peeled wood? How about some art we could attach to the fence? Why are there no cool trash and recycling bins? How about we get together: PK, the skate team and any interested skaters who use the park to make the look and feel of it more fun?
PK proposes we Art It Up... our Mayor has suggested a color scheme... what I got from being there today was some cool blues with some lime green trim to make it pop... sounds good to me... what do you think? Robin's egg blue and royal blue with a bright green trim around the edge painted on the exposed wood sides and backs of the ramps/vert/half and quarter pipes... ?? What about an info and first aid booth, what about some kind of shade?
Pride in our old park could also bring attention to the new park our skate team is working on. We will need to raise funds for the new park and making the old one look better will help.
PK is creating a proposal to submit on 5/29 so that we can be on the Village Board docket on 6/3. We would like to get approval to paint and possibly improve the environment. We need your support! We need to know who can volunteer to help...we need some skaters to come to the meeting with us!

Thanks!!!
